1.  001 Engineering Materials Laboratory:

Engineering Materials Laboratory, covering 1200 square feet, deals with the practical aspects of testing the construction materials like concrete, steel, and masonry and the assessment of their mechanical properties. This laboratory also provides hands-on experience with the facilities for testing aggregate, cement, admixtures and wood. Our laboratory is equipped with latest equipment, including universal testing machine, compression testing machine, Charpy impact test, concrete mixing equipment, electronic strain devices and other similar equipment.

  1.  002 Hydraulics Engineering Laboratory:

Steady and unsteady flows in open channels along with the sediment transport are some of the important topics which will be analyzed and demonstrated through experiments in our Hydraulics Engineering Laboratory. This lab is equipped with state-of-the-art hydraulic flume, basic hydrology apparatus, pumps and turbines, sediment transport apparatus, hydraulic benches and other modern equipment.

  1.  003 Transportation and Highway Engineering Lab:

The Transportation and Highway Engineering Laboratory is equipped to conduct standard tests for asphalt pavement design and paving materials for undergraduate teaching. It is also equipped to conduct all standardized tests to assess quality of highway materials and experiments that are conducted in pre- construction, during-construction and post-construction phases of highways. This laboratory contains different equipment used to categorize soil and bitumen binders in terms of their properties and quality control and provides an additional exposure to the testing of highway construction materials for the Civil Engineering students. Major equipment includes Marshall Stability tester, skid resistance tester, Los Angeles abrasion testing machine, bitumen ductility machine, Flash and Fire point apparatus etc.

  1.  101 Engineering Mechanics Laboratory:

Mechanics is the theoretical, numerical, and experimental study of the response of solids and fluids to external forces. Mechanics forms the underlying scientific foundation for a wide range of engineering endeavors. It bridges the gap between fundamental science and a wide variety of engineering disciplines. This laboratory is equipped with the basic testing equipment to enhance students’ knowledge related to statics, applied physics and calculus. The equipment consists of beam reaction apparatus, friction apparatus, flywheel, center of gravity apparatus, tension in spring apparatus and principle of superposition apparatus etc. in order to strengthen the concepts of students.
 

  1.  102 Construction Engineering Laboratory:

The purpose of developing a Construction Engineering Laboratory was to familiarize our students with all the tools and practices commonly used in the construction industry. Further, in order to induce lifelong safety learning in the students, the students are made aware of the safety practices adopted at construction sites to avoid any hazards. The laboratory is equipped with various construction tools and safety kits such as trowels, hoes, spades, floats, head pans, plumb bobs, bubble levels, rubber boots, gloves, safety goggles, helmets, reflector jackets, scaffolding, various brick bonds, safety signs etc. in order to provide better understanding of construction practices to the students.

  1.  105 Fluid Mechanics Laboratory:

Engineering properties of fluids, hydrostatics, fluid kinematics and fluid dynamics are some of the important topics which will be analyzed and demonstrated through experiments in our Fluid Mechanics Laboratory spread over an area of 1800 square feet. This lab is equipped with state-of-the-art hydraulic benches, pipe friction apparatus, various turbines, sediment transport apparatus, viscometers, Bernoulli’s and Archimedes apparatus and allied latest equipment.

  1.  201 Structural Engineering Laboratory:

Structural Engineering Laboratory helps to strengthen the basic concepts of stress and strain analysis of various structural elements such as beams, columns, trusses, arched bridges etc. This laboratory is equipped with state of the art equipment for structural testing, model testing, stress analysis, and material property determination of various materials, systems, and structures. Some of the equipment includes bending moment and shear force apparatus, influence line apparatus, parabolic arch apparatus, suspension bridge apparatus, forces in truss apparatus etc. which is extremely helpful in understanding the response mechanism of various structural elements upon application of loading.

  1. 202 Survey Laboratory:

Survey Laboratory is equipped with measuring instruments for distance, vertical and horizontal angles, and elevation. It is also used for performing leveling surveys and transverse surveys, and for applying corrections to geodetic observations. Latest Total Stations, Theodolites, Levels and allied equipment are the key features of this lab.

  1.  301 Geotechnical and Foundation Engineering Laboratory:

The Geotechnical and Foundation Engineering Laboratory which was established in a 1200 square feet area, is used to explore geotechnical equipment and techniques. It is also used to apply testing principles to the measurement of fundamental aspects of soil behavior from classification to engineering properties such as Atterberg limits devices, soil compactors, sieve analysis apparatus, shear strength determination using direct shear apparatus, tri- axial compression testing machine, consolidation oedometers, drying ovens etc.
 

  1.  302 Environmental Engineering Laboratory:

Laboratory space includes an area of 1200 square feet, containing five modern and well equipped work stations, each sufficient to cater eight students. This laboratory is designed for state-of-the-art environmental analyses, including water and wastewater testing and treatability studies. Along with auxiliary equipment such as an autoclave, incubators, balances, pH meters, and a water distillation system, the laboratory is equipped for a broad range of physical, chemical, and biological testing.
