Society of Electronics and Telecommunication (SET) - Faculty of Engineering

The Society of Electronics and Telecommunication aims to provide rich learning opportunities within a state-of-the-art research facility that prepares undergraduates in the field of electronics and communication.

SET is primarily devoted to provide its students access to the most technologically advanced equipment and resources, so that they will be ahead of the game with the skills and expertise necessary to excel in their careers.

Additionally, all students have access to the university wide internet network in the lab, which connect the students with their professors, and provides access to a variety of journals and papers.

Students are also equipped with the computing facilities and resources to give them a better understanding of circuit problems through electronics simulation software.
Our faculty members and lab staff are always there to help with trouble shooting and to provide guidance.

SET also learn business skills and teamwork through the production of a full-coloured magazine targeted at alumni, to keep them informed about the latest goings-on at the Faculty of Engineering as well as developments in technology around the world. The process of editing and producing a high-quality magazine develops skills which are useful in any profession.

SET also organizes conferences, the latest of which took place in June, 2007. Students from UET Lahore, Lahore College for Women University, FAST and NUST in Lahore participated, as well as students from Muhammad Ali Jinnah University in Karachi. This multi-topic conference provided a forum for the students to exchange ideas and findings in a wide range of areas related to Communications, Computer, and Electronics Engineering.
