UCP STUDENTS VISIT TURKEY & DUBAI

In line with the traditions of the University, a group of UCP students was taken on an international tour to Turkey and Dubai, from 7th to 16th July 2008. This tour was led by Mr. Fakhar Abbas, Director Foreign Education, accompanied by 16 students. The purpose of this tour was to provide an opportunity for international exposure and cross-cultural interaction for the UCP students.
In Istanbul, Turkey, the group had an opportunity to visit some historically important sites such as the Hippodrome, the sportive and political center of the Old City, the Blue Mosque and the Topkapi Palace, the seat of the Ottoman Empire. The students appreciated the Muslim Art and Architecture of Sulemaniye Mosque which is a masterpiece built by the famous architect Sinan, during the reign of Sultan Suleyman the Magnificent. The students were also taken on the Bosporus Tour Waterway . They had the opportunity to interact with the people of this brotherly Muslim country which has deep historical, emotional and religious ties with Pakistan.
Dubai has become famous for offering fantastic recreational opportunities to tourists in recent years. The UCP students took a tour of the modern city of Dubai and visited Ibne-Batota Mall, Dragon Mall and Emirates Mall where they enjoyed skating and then visited the Knowledge City, which is a cluster of foreign university campuses in Dubai. The hallmark of the Dubai visit was the famous Desert Safari, which the students enjoyed themselves immensely.
After spending 7 days in Turkey and 5 days in Dubai the students safely returned home with memories to relish for the rest of their lives.

(05 Nights / 06 Days)
Day 01,
Lahore – Istanbul.
- Departure for Istanbul via Karachi.
- Arrive at Istanbul Ataturk Airport.
- Meet by Orion reperesentative and transfer to hotel.
- Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 02,
Istanbul.
- After breakfast we continue on to the Hippodrome, the sportive and political center of the Old City.
- We visit the Blue Mosque, facing St. Sophia and famous for its delicate blue tiles, and unique 6-minaret design.
- We then visit Topkapi Palace, seat of the Ottoman Empire for four centuries and visit the Chinese Porcelain.
- We will then browse around the exciting Grand Bazaar, a maze of over 4000 tiny shops selling gold, jewellery,leather work and fine carpets.
- Return to hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 03,
Istanbul.
- Departure from the hotel for a visit to the Spice Bazaar where we will experience the smells of cinnamon, cloves and thyme rising from every store, the same smells that filled the air over 400 years ago.
- We then embark on a scenic tour of the Bosphorus, the natural waterway that divides Asia from Europe, passing palaces, castles, palatial homes, and the two magnificent suspension bridges. On the Asian side we visit ‚Çamlica Hill which is one of the highest points in Istanbul, offering breathtaking views in all directions.
- Return to hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 04,
Istanbul.
- After breakfast we visit the Suleymaniye Mosque, masterpiece of famous architect Sinan, built during the reign of Sultan Suleyman the Magnificent.
- Then we visit to St. Sophia Museum which is one of the great architectural marvels of the ancient world.
- Then we visit to Underground Cistern, storage of 80,000 tons water capacity for the Old City.
- Return to hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 05,
Istanbul.
- Break fast at hotel.
- Full day for shopping & Independent activities.
- Overnight at hotel.
Day 06,
Istanbul – Lahore.
- Breakfast at hotel, Free until transfer time.
- Then Transfer to airport for flight to home.

VISA NOTICE
The visas will be applied for immediately once all the passports have been received by us. Having submitted the passports to the respective Embassies/High Commissions, the matter gets beyond our control. In view of rising militancy and human trafficking the foreign missions put the applications through strict scrutiny and most of the time refers the cases to their home governments. If a single doubtful case is detected the processing for the entire group is held up. The procedure is time consuming and issuance of visas can take longer than the stipulated period. However, we wish to assure our clients that there will never be any delay on the part of Bukhari Tours.
