Workshop on Implications and Remedies of Harassment
Harassment, even in today’s world of openness is considered Taboo and its implications and manifestations are comprehended by very few, therefore opening the doors of exploitation and stigmatization. There is a lot of talk but what needs to be done especially by the individual or the education sector and its multiple stakeholders, is still translucent. Despite employers’ best efforts, sexual and gender-based harassment still occurs in most workplaces.
This training has been developed keeping in mind the psychological, domestic, societal, legal and institutional ramifications of Harassment. Training in how to respond assertively to harassment offers relief from that stress and distress.

- Global legislation and conventions
- Child + domestic abuse
- Social media, harassment and its implications
- Intra-Institutional CMS & legal frameworks
- HEC policy guidelines on harassment
Workshop Participants Profile:
The participants to this specialized workshop will be deans, chairpersons and members of faculty from universities around Pakistan or college level principals, administrators and teachers. Institutional harassment committee members are encouraged to apply. Researchers in this area of specialization may also apply along with relevant government officials.
The subsidized workshop investment for this two days workshop is Rs. 10000/- per participant. Seats are limited and selection will be on first come first served basis for the appropriate candidates. If there are 2 or more participants from one organization than 25% will be applicable on every participant. There are limited full scholarships for the above workshops with University of Central Punjab and applicants who want to avail this facility, may through an application addressed to: Prof. Hadia Awan, Dean Faculty of Law, University of Central Punjab, Lahore.
Lead Resource Person:
Syed Hussain Haider has been working as a Management and Legal Expert for the past 24 years with various private and public sector organization. He has been a management consultant with the Government of the Punjab/ Pakistan and is Deputy Counsel General Pakistan institute of Human Rights.
Expert Resource Person:
Professor Hadia Awan is an Ex-Judge and is Dean UCP Faculty of Law. She is an LLM from London University and is awaiting defense of her PhD Degree from NDU Islamabad. She is an accredited mediator, teacher and advocacy skills trained from UK and USA.
