UCP’s sportsmen participated in the HEC Intervarsity Sports Championship, competing against 120+ public and private universities in Pakistan. And without breaking a sweat (no pun intended), they maintained their winning streak by winning for the 7th time in a row! Not to mention, UCP managed to score the highest number of gold and bronze medals in the championship.
Sports are an integral part of the extracurricular activities at the University of Central Punjab – this includes league tournaments of badminton, basketball, cricket, hockey, soccer, table tennis and swimming. The students are provided with state-of-the-art facilities like a world class gym, a heated swimming pool and a multi-purpose games hall. In addition, training camps are conducted for further training of sportsmen under the supervision of highly qualified coaches and trainers.
Apart from on-campus activities, students take an active part in the tournaments organized by the HEC. Every year UCP has the honour of being represented by 300+ dedicated and enthusiastic sportsmen at the HEC Sports Championship – these teams not only participate in the nationwide tournament but in the international tournaments as well.
All Pakistan HEC Sports Championship features intense competition with Lahore University of Management and Sciences (LUMS), University of the Punjab, Superior University, Sindh University, Karachi University and other 120 private, government and semi-government universities.
