University of Central Punjab, Lahore View mapThe Entrepreneurship and Innovation Division, UCP Business School arranged a guest speaker session on “The Importance of Funding and Financing for Entrepreneurs” on 22nd June 2018 for the BBA students of the Course – Entrepreneurship organized by the course instructor Ms. Ambreen Khursheed. To enhance the students’ knowledge-base, Mr. Gohar Iqbal (CEO – Johnny & Jugnu) gave an informative lecture. He is a LUMS graduate and a Winner of LUMS Brand Rush and Procter & Gamble Brand Wars competition. With his rich professional background on successful implementation of business idea and project development, he introduced different aspects of entrepreneurial finance and emphasized that zeal and great idea are the only ingredients in a recipe for business startup. He highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship in the present era and how students can exploit funding and play vital role in economic development. He mentioned that the reason that people do not start their new ventures in a country like Pakistan is due to non-awareness amongst the population of Pakistan and decides to go for jobs in private or government sectors so as to minimize the risk. Gohar emphasized to raise the basic awareness of entrepreneurial concepts and funding agencies in order to enable students to identify and learn how to make a mind-set to take up entrepreneurship as a challenging career. The session motivated the students to work hard and start a new venture through adequate forward planning and the execution of the plans. The session was indeed a fruitful knowledge sharing forum that was followed by a question-answer session from the participating students. The session not only created awareness on Entrepreneurship among students but also inculcated entrepreneurial spirit and certainly motivated students to engage in entrepreneurship.
At the end of the session, Ms. Ambreen expressed gratitude and presented souvenir to the guest, on behalf of the school for sparing his valuable time.
