Nisa Society and Initiative for Sustainable Development (ISD) organized the second edition of “Subh e Nau”.

Initiative for Sustainable Development (ISD) is a registered organization working for the protection and promotion of human rights, democracy, the rule of law and justice.  It functions as a think tank, advocacy group and public outreach organization independent of government.

Event started with the recitation of the holy Quran followed by the national anthem.

The session opened with Mr. Gul Hassan Abbas; executive director of ISD, gave a brief introduction about the seminar and educated the audience about the importance of coexistence.

Ms. Moon Ali; a transgender speaker, head of Khawajasira society, hosted the whole event and also spoke about her life story.

Ms. Anaya Sheikh; a transgender social activist who is a stand-up comedian as well, also addressed the audience and amused them with her talking skills.

Ms. Suman Ali Lashari; youngest human rights activist of Pakistan, an acid survivor and motivational speaker came up next and narrated her life story.

Ms. Anum Khan; wheelchair bound motivational speaker and head of Milestone foundation motivated the other people of her community by telling about her story.

Mr. Chaman Lal; Human right activist from Cholistan who is working for rights of marginalized communities, especially Hindu children also shared his journey.

Ms. Asara Choudhury; motivational speaker, writer and Chief Executive of Pakistan’s First Inclusive Trans- Run skill development institute “Hunargah”, motivated the audience.

Ms. NagmaGogi; actor, theatrical artist and first ever Coke Studio Singer, came up and sang her famous song.

Mr. Kashif Ali; Regional Director, Ministry of Human Rights, Punjab, gave closing remarks about the event and informed the audience about the measures taken by govt to protect the rights of minorities. He also distributed shields among the speakers for recognition.

Mr. Hussain Naqi; was the chief guest for the event; he is a 78 year old veteran journalist who has worked on marginalized communities throughout his career. He gave his remarks about the event and appreciated the efforts of Nisa Society and ISD.

Pro-rector UCP, Dr. Nizam-ud-din, Dean Faculty of Law, Dr. Hadia Awan, Dean Faculty of Management Studies, Dr. Faisal Mustafa also joined the event and appreciated the efforts of the organizing society.
