Research Projects
1. Emulation of inertia in Wind farms
Collaborator: Arslan Ashraf
Description: This project focuses on designing of control techniques for emulated control inertia of wind farms. This project involves an in depth study and designing of PWM controller, back to back full converter, PID control for both voltage and active power control, emulation of grid inertia for an improved dynamic response of wind farms during grid disturbances.
2. Design of 275 kV high voltage bushing on COMSOL Multiphysics
Collaborator: Arslan Ashraf
Description: This project focuses on design of insulation of high voltage transformer bushing of power transformers. The project explores ways of equally distributing the electric field of High voltage bushing. This design will be carried out on COMSOL multiphysics software, renowned for simulating physical environments.
3. Investigation into dynamic electricity markets for Pakistan
Collaborator: Nabeel Khalid
Description: This project focuses on design review of existing models of dynamic electricity markets based on demand response and how they would be suitable for future electricity grids of Pakistan. This project also explores an possibilities of demand response model for Pakistani electricity market
