Dr. Furqan Ullah is Assistant Professor of Computer Science Department at University of Central Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan. He received a B.S. from University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Pakistan in 2006, and M.S. and Ph.D. from Myongji University, South Korea in 2009 and 2014, respectively. He worked for two years in Korean industry as Software Engineer and Manager of 3D Vision Team. He then moved to Tele-immersion Lab, University of California, Berkeley in 2015 to pursue his postdoctoral research in the development of a dynamic human musculoskeletal modeling platform with Siemens Corporate. In his postdoc, he gained experience in collaborating with Stanford, UC Davis, UCSF, Amazon, and two startups. He has published 31 papers in 10 peer-reviewed journals and 21 in national and international conferences. He has been awarded best conference papers, best journal paper, best dissertation, and extracurricular awards in his academic career. His research work and developed softwares are being used by several US, European, African, Asian universities and industries. He recently initiated a start-up in the domain of 3D vision. His research interests span 3D computer vision and graphics, 3D visualization and rendering engines, 3D measurement methods and systems, real-time 3D simulations and applications, virtual and haptic realities, and computational geometry.
