Dr. Saeed Ur Rehman
Dr Saeed Ur Rehman has a PhD in Postcolonial Critical Theory from The Australian National University and a post-doc from the Zentrum Moderner Orient, Berlin. He has 18 years’ career as an academic, a field researcher and a creative as well as journalistic writer with research and publication experience with prestigious local and international organizations, viz., Lok Virsa, Islamabad, Norwegian Museum of Cultural History, Oslo, and South Asian Forum for Human Rights (SAFHR). His monograph titled The Impact of Educational Policies on the Religious Minorities of Pakistan: 1947-2010 was published by SAFHR. His academic articles have appeared in renowned national and international journals.
Dr. Rehman has published more than 100 newspaper articles for Pakistani and international newspapers on literary and cultural issues. He has published interviews with ace litterateurs like Mazharul Islam, Mirza Ather Baig, N. Frank Daniels, Mohsin Hamid, Bilal Tanweer, Omar Shahid Hamid and Ali Akbar Natiq. He regularly appears on Radio FM-103 to discuss educational and cultural matters.
Dr Rehman’s creative writing has appeared in The Mississippi Review, Chowk, and The Aleph Review. His short story “The Sharpness of Grass Blades” was featured in a short documentary titled Challenging Borders Through Fiction.
In 2016-2017, he led the HEC National Curriculum Review Committee (English Literature) and is currently a member of the Selection Board for English Literature at Punjab University as well as a member of the Board of Faculty at the University of Lahore.
