Falsafa-e-Ishq

On November 8, 2019, UCP Literary Society commemorated the 142nd birth anniversary of Dr Sir Allama Muhammad Iqbal highlighting one of his focal works “Falsafa-E-Ishq”. Dr Saeed Ahmad Saeedi was the guest of honor. Dr. Ahmed has a PHD in Iqbaliyaat.He delivered a comprehensive lecture on “How Iqbal became Allama Iqbal”. He talked of Iqbal’s self-assessment, the concept of khudi, Iqbal’s falsafa-e-ishq, the spirit that he tried to invigorate in the Muslim Ummah, his pursuit of intellect of man and conveyed to us how it is to be applied in our lives today, specifically highlighting the age group present there.

The compendious guest speech was followed by a mime portraying Iqbal’s “tere ishq ki inteha chahta hun; meri sadgi dekh kya chahta hun”. Succession of mime was a melodious presentation of Allama Muhammad Iqbal’s ever famous Shikwa Jawab-e-Shikwa. After that, a mushaira was held, verses were read from both, works of renowned writers as well as the student’s own writings.

At the end of the day, certificates of appreciation were handed over to all participants. The event closed with the vote of thanks by Ms Samina Hafeez, Director Student Affairs.
