Cisco being the leading company in digital communication and networking revolutionized the technology world. In this era, technology being the need of the moment and not the luxury anymore has impacted every single thing and Cisco Academy is providing people with the right skills to be a part of this process. Over 20, 000 patents, 11000 academies, 1.3 million annual students, 20000 instructors, 200 million investments and over 70% of internet in the world pass through cisco’s routers. Cisco has made its impact globally and now is in collaboration with UCP to facilitate its students in the best possible manner.
Muhammad K. Jinini, CSR Manager, Regional Head Cisco NetAcad Pakistan and Mr. Faheem Anwar, Advisor Cisco Netacad Pakistan arrived in UCP’s premises who were welcomed warmly by Pro-rector UCP, Dr. Muhammad Zafarullah along with the deans, directors, faculty and staff of UCP. The guests were served with tea after which the event commenced formally with the recitation of Holy Quran.
Dean FOIT, Dr. Ahmad Kazmi greeted the guests and the audience and launched the event with a brief welcome note by highlighting the collaboration of Cisco Academy and UCP. Later CSR Manager, Regional Head Cisco NetAcad Pakistan, Mr. Muhammad K. Jinini drew special attention on the role of Cisco in Pakistan and especially in the UCP. He explained how Cisco’s joint venture with UCP will design the curriculum related to networking, Iot, cybersecurity, programming and various other courses. A learning opportunity would be provided to the students which they can avail easily free of cost. UCP’s curricula would be integrated with Cisco’s networking certification from the highly trained professional instructors. UCP’s students can access this learning management system, they can do free certification, courses, apply for various tests on the online portal and can acquire specializations in their area of interest. He further highlighted the level of courses which can be availed ranging from exploratory to career-ready. He highlighted how women would be promoted in this area and how they will emphasize on women’s training in IT sector. He shared the roadmap of Cisco’s implementation in Pakistan and especially in UCP. He further appreciated the efforts of youth in acquiring education and making their mark on the global map.
Mr. Faheem Anwar, Advisor Cisco Netacad Pakistan admired UCP’s efforts in this regard and how it can make UCPians the perfect choice for every employer. He told that how this uprising is the need of the time. He mentioned how it will redesign their portfolio once their qualifications will be aligned with the necessary industrial skills required for the job. He focused attention on how the correct use of technology can help them make their mark internationally. He further motivated the students and appreciated the instructors who are trained in this regard and serving UCP with their expertise.
Ms. Amina Rizwan from UCP recognized the contribution of women’s excellence in IT sector and how these efforts needs to be increased every year. Women are making their mark in entrepreneurship and succeeding in it by leaps and bounds. She also cherished the victories of UCP’s student body in various areas. She threw light on “Women Rock – IT”, a platform especially designed for women to excel.
At the end of the of the event Pro-rector UCP, Dr. Muhammad Zafarullah and CSR Manager, Regional Head Cisco NetAcad Pakistan, Mr. Muhammad K. Jinini exchanged to souvenirs to remember this historic day. Later Pro-rector UCP, Dr. Muhammad Zafarullah presented Mr. Jamal Ahmed, Mr. Imran Ahmed, Mr. Shahzad Ahmed Malik, Mr. Aizaz Ahmed Riaz, Mr. Ehsaan Ahmed, Mr. M. Amjad, Ms. Amina Rizwan, Dean FOIT, Dr. Ahmed Shabbar Kazmi, Dean FOE, Dr. Muhammad Akram Tahir, Dean of Business School, Dr. Faisal Mustafa, Director Administration, Mr. Amjad Niaz, Director Students Affair, Mr. Tahir Ashfaq, Head of IT, Mr. Haris Bilal, Sr. Manager IT, Mr. Jamal Ahmed and Ms. Rabia Shahid with certificates and awards for their contribution and efforts.
