The Department of English conducted a seminar on “Playing with the Unexpected in Morphology”. The invited guest speaker was renowned linguist, Dr. Francisco Marcos-Marin, Professor, Department of Modern Languages and Literatures, College of Liberal and Fine Arts, the University of Texas at San Antonio, USA. The participants of the seminar were BS English, MS/M. Phil Applied Linguistics and MS/M.Phil English Literature students and faculty members. Focused upon the twisted use of the language with respect to its morphological aspects, the insightful session was highly appreciated and enjoyed by all the participants. The interactive session and questions raised by the participants at the end of the seminar were an embodiment of the productive learning experience the event provided to them. Concluding the seminar, Dr. Ismat Jabeen, Program Director, presented the UCP souvenir to Dr. Francisco as a token of thanks on behalf of the Department of English, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.
