What is the eligibility criterion for admission to Engineering Departments?
F.Sc. (Pre-Engineering)/ A’ Level* (Math, Physics & Chemistry) with at least 60% marks or Diploma in Associate Electrical/Electronic Engineering with at least 60% marks or (for Mechanical Engineering) Diploma in Associate Mechanical Engineering with at least 60% marks (for Civil Engineering) Diploma in Civil Engineering with 60% marks and above.
*A-Level students will have to submit equivalence certificate issued by Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC), Islamabad.

Any sort of financial aid provided to students?
The Faculty of Engineering offers limited number of merit scholarships on the basis of academic excellence in examinations held by the respective Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education and the University. Eligibility for merit scholarships is determined on the basis of marks obtained in Intermediate Examinations. A-Level students are considered for merit scholarship on the basis of their merit as determined through the Equivalence Certificate issued by IBCC.
Fee Concessions on tuition fee are also offered to:

  • PGC Alumni 25%
  • Kinship 25%

Above fee concession is continued in the next semester if CGPA is higher than 3.5 as specified by the management with a minimum workload of 15 credits (or 5 courses) in a semester.

What are the requirements of engineering programs?
For all the programs of engineering i.e.

  • B.SC. (EE)
  • B.SC. (ME)
  • B.SC. (CE)

Total Credit Hour Requirements for Engineering Programs:

  • B.Sc. Electrical Engineering: 135
  • B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering: 135
  • B.Sc. Civil Engineering: 139

CGPA Requirement for Engineering Degree: 2.0 or more.

Graduates of FOE are working in different local and multinational product and service based industries. FOE periodically organizes Alumni get-togethers that helps university and enrolled engineering students to understand the volatile market needs.
How well Laboratories in Engineering Departments are equipped?
Faculty of Engineering is well equipped with state of the art laboratories and support facilities with up to date and quality equipment.
Does FOE facilitate the students to get internships?
FOE is committed to facilitate students in getting internships in various organizations. In the summer of 2016 around 100 students have completed their internships at various organizations arranged by FOE.
What is the system of examination in FOE?
It is at the discretion of the course instructor to decide on the weights of all examinations, assignments, project, presentations, quizzes etc. However, as a broad guideline set at this University, the distribution of weights of these components is would be:

Quizzes, Assignments, Test Papers, Class Participation, etc. 25%
Mid. Term Examination 25%
Final Examination 50%

What is the Grading policy of FOE?
All students receive grade reports indicating academic progress at the end of each semester for which they were enrolled. UCP strictly follows a 4-point grading system similar to the one prevalent at most of the accredited institutions throughout the globe. The numerical equivalence of letter grades is given below:
