M.Phil./MS English Literature

Admission Criteria

  • Candidates who have a MA English (2nd Division), BS English (Hons), BA (Hons) (Major English) or 16 years of education in relevant field with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 are eligible to apply for MPhil/MS English Literature.
  • A candidate will need to qualify UCP Admission Test and Interview for admission in MPhil/MS English Literature

Prospects

The program primarily aims at producing effective professionals in the discipline of English Literature who will be able to contribute in different practical and research fields of Literature. To achieve the said goal, the program offers a broad range of cautiously selected courses. These courses provide the students with requisite and fundamental knowledge of theoretical underpinnings in the field of English Literature. Similarly, the candidates are trained both in theory and practice by applying the theoretical knowledge gained in practical and meaning oriented field research. It also aims at providing crucial preparation for writing the dissertation and making substantial contributions to work in students’ chosen field(s). The program ultimately envisions producing well-trained and productive scholars, sympathetic and intelligent critics, and effective and imaginative teachers and professionals.

Research Work

A Student will register for each Semester during the Thesis work and will pay Fee of one Course for each Semester. A student Registered for MS/MPhil Thesis will have to pay minimum fee equal to two courses and a student registered in Ph.D Thesis will have to pay minimum fee equal to four courses.
